Let's Get Real.
Women had been subjected to the glass ceiling effect encompassing discrimination, harassment, and unfair pay for many years. Modern times have provided better treatment for working women. Women can successfully climb to the top ranks in their field and are treated equally on the larger scale. Some women still do not receive deserved benefits despite victories. Unequal pay and inequality are currently being discussed by multiple organizations for resolution to the existing drawbacks. Women have also been stepping up to meet the challenges and support other women.
Business woman Susan McGalla is one example of an independent woman rising to significance in a career field that did not consider women previously. McGalla believes her accomplishment is founded on knowing success would not simply be handed to her and her mentality would carry her far. Her ability to preserve her leadership and roles is the driving factor in upholding her position. She can be located on susanmcgalla.com. McGalla represents and delivers role modeling skills like efficient networking, effective management, adaptability, poise and so much more that makes her a highly contributing element in her career field.
Her journey to the top has been more than impressive. She is the founder of P3 Executive Consulting, LLC and is the Pittsburgh Steelers Director and of Strategic Planning and Growth. She did not begin directly at the top. Between 1986 and 1994 she worked at Joseph Horne Company before working at American Eagle Outfitters. Dedicating hard work earned her the position of president and CMO for the company’s flagship brand. Later on she moved up to President and Chief Merchandising Officer of American Eagle Outfitters. The job was not simply given to her because it needed to be filled. Her excellent work quality and ethics made her a prime candidate. After voluntarily leaving the company she became Wet Seal’s CEO when the company requested her employment while a retail business hired her as a reserved adviser for monetary investment. She eventually left Wet Seal to be a consulting expert and now finds herself where she is today.
Susan McGalla is a terrific inspiration to all women. She exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated worker and not let unjust limitations prevent goal achievement. Her admirable qualities and worth ethics demonstrate what it takes to reach the top. Gender should not be a limitation to reaching goals and successful career opportunities.
