Laidlaw & Company Helping Investors Since 1842

Laidlaw & Company (UK) Ltd. is an investment banking organization offering their services to individuals and institutions in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The company was originally founded in New York City in 1842 and continued to operate in the field of investing under different owners, partners, and CEOs until 1853 when Henry Bell Laidlaw went to work for the firm. In 1873, Laidlaw was appointed the head of the organization, and the name was changed to Laidlaw & Co. In 1978 the company joined the New York Stock Exchange as a partner and Charles Laidlaw became the Governor of the Exchanges and served for 13 years.

Laidlaw & Company provides the usual banking and wealth management services, as well as advisory services which have become mandatory by the Securities and Exchange Commission. They also bring private companies public by offering the IPOs (Initial public offerings) which can provide fledgling companies with the needed capital to make a push toward the top.

The management of Laidlaw has recently been concentrating on banking and investing opportunities located in the health sector. It is here where the company wants to concentrate and feels this sector is the best and safest area for investment and IPOs.

Laidlaw & Company has been in continuous operation since 1842 and appears ready to continue operations into the future.
