Fines For No Insurance

Open enrollment for Obamacare for 2015 reopens tomorrow, November 15. There are many people who are looking forward to this day as they have no insurance at all or rates they can’t afford. This is like a holiday for many, but those who don’t have coverage next year might be in for a surprise. The penalties for not having insurance might triple.

This would make the fines go from $95 to $325. Even children will be subject to a fine of a little more than $160. The process is a little confusing when someone signs up, and this is possibly why many people simply don’t bother. They think they don’t need insurance, so they only pay for a doctor’s visit when it’s absolutely necessary.

There are a few months for people to sign up for coverage, and after that time has passed, some of those who thought they wouldn’t have any consequences will be looking at things a little differently. Thanks to friend of the site Sam Tabar for sending in this tip.
